Woolaston Parish Council

An overview

Duties of Woolaston Parish Council
Woolaston Parish Council is responsible either directly or as agent for the District Council for the maintenance of the cemetery, grassed areas within the village and for administration of what have been called "Parish Lands". Woolaston Parish Council is currently providing significant financial support for the Village Hall, though like the playing field these facilities are owned and managed through a charitable trust. Council has other duties concerning public footpaths and obstruction to rights of way. Woolaston Parish Council is notified of all planning applications, though its powers are only advisory. It is consulted on the making of certain byelaws. The Parish Council also administers some local charities.

Council Meetings
There is a Parish Council meeting in the Memorial Hall at 8.0 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, apart from January and August. Any member of the public wishing to attend is welcome to attend as an observer.
The Annual Parish Meeting takes place in April and is open to any member of the Public. The Agenda, and dates of meetings are posted on the Parish Council notice board.

Parish Councillors
